Sharjah Crown Prince Reaffirms Emirate's Keenness to Promote Culture of Innovation

UAE INNOVATION WEEK OPENS AT EXPO CENTRE SHARJAH ON SUNDAY; FEATURING MORE THAN 110 ACTIVITIES, WORKSHOPS AND EXHIBITIONS 

Dubai, UAE, November 19, 2016:  His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, has reaffirmed the Emirate’s keenness to promote and support the culture of innovation and new ideas in Sharjah by providing an integrated and motivational environment in order to strengthen scientific temperament and development in the Emirate, building a knowledge-based society for all-round development and growth.

This came in his remarks ahead of the UAE Innovation Week in Sharjah that is being held from November 20 to 26, 2016 at Expo Centre Sharjah under the patronage of His Highness the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.

In his remarks, His Highness the Crown Prince of Sharjah said: “Guided by the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the spirit of innovation and excellence has been the driving spirit and fountain head of the progress and development of the Emirate of Sharjah, as it is of the United Arab Emirates, which has managed to achieve its preeminent position on the world map in the shortest possible time.”

He added: “The amazing progress of Sharjah and the UAE is manifested and embodied in the intellectual and scientific empowerment of their people”.

His Highness the Crown Prince of Sharjah lauded the exciting march of excellence and innovative ideas that is going to be showcased during the UAE Innovation Week in Sharjah and all over the country, praising the efforts being made by various public and private institutions, government bodies and universities and colleges, and the people of Sharjah, to make this a grand success.  This scientific spirit of excellence, innovation and competition heralds a great future of new achievements for the Emirate and the UAE.

The UAE Innovation Week in Sharjah, being held under the auspices of the Sharjah Consultative Council, will see the public and private sector entities and institutions rub shoulders to showcase and brainstorm over breathtaking new ideas, innovations, stimulating creative thinking culture in the country.

The week-long affair includes more than 110 activities and events including workshops, student innovations, scientific discussions and dialogue, exhibitions, skits and much more.

It is noteworthy that all the activities of the UAE Innovation Week in Sharjah are open to members of public and media. The exhibition hall of Expo Centre Sharjah has been divided into six sections with innovative names denoting a scientific spirit.
