SAGOSKATT 2016
KIDS DESIGN FOR KIDS

Kids designing for kids - for every child’s right to play and develop

For the second year in a row we invited children to create this year’s limited edition collection SAGOSKATT. Children from around the world have participated by drawing their own imaginary creature, with the chance of getting our help turning it into a real soft toy.

In total over 52,000 drawings was part of the drawing competition. Out of all these wonderful drawings, a jury had the hard task of settling on 10 winners aged from 5 to 9 years.

Among the 10 winners we find a warm and happy soft toy sun, a red “wannabe-scary” monster, and lots more:
Bodil Fritjofsson, product developer Children’s IKEA, comments on the 10 final drawings: “There are so many creators out there. The world will not lack potential future artists and designers, some of the drawings are real pieces of art. The event creates opportunities for children to be creative and get to draw their dream soft toy and that opens up their fantasy, which really shows in the art.“

This year, the winners come from:

• Thailand
• Indonesia
• Spain
• Hong Kong
• Czech Republic
• Egypt
• Finland
• France
• Turkey
• Canada

Let’s Play for Change

The children that took part in the drawing competition did not only share their dreams and imagination. At the same time they contributed to every child’s right to play and develop. The SAGOSKATT collection, contributes to this year’s IKEA Good Cause campaign that supports children rights to play and develop.

The campaign, Let’s Play for Change, highlights the benefits of play for all children.
