UK-produced series to air across MTV’s network of international channels and digital platforms Ex on the Beach re-commissioned for a sixth series Dubai, UAE, November 3, 2016: MTV International has today announced it will produce a new, cheeky, fun and visual formatted reality series, Just Tattoo of Us. London-based independent producer, Gobstopper TV, will produce the 7 x 60 minute series for MTV International, which is set to air across MTV’s network of 62 international channels and digital platforms from spring 2017. In true MTV style, Just Tattoo of Us will put relationships to the test by asking pairs of friends, family members and couples to design tattoos for each other. But they’ll only see the final designs once they’re inked on each other’s bodies, and it’s too late to walk away. The studio based show will be fronted by two hosts and four of the world’s best young tattoo artists, with two daring pairs appearing on each episode, totaling 21 brave pairs across the series. “The popularity of tattoos right now is extraordinary. Every inking has a story behind it, be it something meaningful and personal to the owner, or a hilarious and regretful moment and we can’t wait to capture these moments on screen,” commented Kerry Taylor, Senior Vice President, Youth and Music, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN). “With four tattoo reveals per episode, I’m confident that Just Tattoo of Us will not only be a perfect fit for MTV’s reality portfolio, but it is also set to become the newest must-watch compulsive viewing format appealing to audiences around the world.” Ross McCarthy, Managing Director, Gobstopper TV said: “The word risky gets banded around a lot in television these days, but what could be riskier than trusting your mate to design you a tattoo? I’m really thrilled to be working with MTV again, and working with Executive Producer Kate Bates (Geordie Shore) to bring a new twist to the tattoo space.” MTV is further strengthening its reality line up with the re-commission of smash hit reality series Ex on the Beach, which will return for a sixth series in 2017. This announcement comes following the premiere of series 5 in August 2016. Internationally Ex on the Beach has performed strongly, reaching almost 14 million people in Season 4 across several key territories including UK, Australia, Netherlands, Poland, Mexico and Brazil. Off-air, Ex on The Beach has also developed an impressive social media following including more than 800k ‘likes’ for its official Facebook page. Ex on the Beach series 6 will be produced for MTV by the UK’s Whizz Kid Entertainment and both this show and Just Tattoo of Us have been commissioned by Taylor.
