First Edition of ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ Tournament to Culminate with Milestone ‘All Stars Match’

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Thirty finalists who have made it through the first two phases of the ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ cross-country tournament will compete tomorrow for the ultimate opportunity to gain nationwide recognition and support for their outstanding football talent.

The finalist teams, comprised of fifteen Emirati and fifteen expatriate students, will be competing in the ‘All Stars Match’, which marks the last of three phases of the ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ football league.

Powered by axiom and Adhaaf, ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ is the first official pan-Emirates school football league, aiming to encourage an active lifestyle among the UAE youth through healthy competition, and inspire a strong football-driven culture. The league offered more than 350 students from 36 schools across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, a chance to compete and demonstrate their football skills to the nation.

“Seeing the youth of the UAE in the match, displaying their passion towards football, and exhibiting their truly talented skills, is a testament to the potential of today’s youth to becoming athletic leaders and ambassadors of the country’s football community,” said Faisal Al Bannai, CEO, axiom.

“We are proud to have had the opportunity to support this initiative with Adhaaf, and having observed the impact and success of the league, we are highly anticipating the next ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ league, which kicks off this academic year,” added Al Bannai.

Anas Bukhash, Managing Partner, Ahdaaf Sports Club, said: “We are delighted about the success of this event, and are overwhelmed by the exceptional football talent displayed by the young competitors throughout all three phases. With the immense positive feedback we have received, from both the students and the public, we look forward to advancing the event with our partner axiom in the coming years.”

Divided into three phases, the first phase saw twelve schools from each of the three emirates competing in April to be one of the 16 teams qualifying for the second knockout tournament that took place in May at The Dubai Mall, Ice Rink.

The final ‘All Stars Match’ will take place tomorrow, on the Humaid al Tayer pitch, at Al Nasr Club from 7:30 to 9PM.
