The Irish Team clinches 1st Place in the Championship & qualifies to the European Futsal Cup for Juniors in France
The U 10 Irish Team in Dubai (Dubai Irish) has qualified to the European Futsal Cup, to be held at Strasbourg in France next Jan., after winning 1st place in the MINA International Futsal Cup for Juniors (10 – 12 Years Old), which took place at Al-Wasl Club with the support of Dubai Sports Council (DSC).
The MINA Futsal Cup was held as part of DSC's efforts to attract & develop sports talents and as per Dubai Government's Policy to support talents in various fields.
The Championship was organized with participation of 24 teams from UAE & overseas; top of which were: Ajax Amsterdam Academy in Dubai, Al-Seeb Club Academy from Oman, Bahrain Futsal Academy, Manchester City Academy Dubai, Manchester City Abu Dhabi, Azul Club, Dubai Irish Football Club, Empire Club, Gulf Academy, GoPro Sports Academy, Reds Academy, Goga Bonito ... etc.
Mr. Chris Brown, the Founder of MINA Football Cup & MINA Futsal Cup, stated: 'The 1st MINA Futsal Championship attained remarkable success, and it was held with participation of 24 teams of two age groups and teams from Oman, Bahrain, Khor Fakkan, Abu Dhabi & Dubai. We are pleased as the Championship was held at Al-Wasl Club. We have offered to become a partner with the European Futsal Cup which will be joined by elite of the best U 11 professional teams in Europe. We congratulate the Irish team which won the U 10 category and qualified to the European Futsal Cup, scheduled in Strasbourg in Jan. 2025 with participation of the most prominent European teams such as Juventus, Bayern Munich and Chelsea. Charlie Hawkins from Dubai Irish was the most influential player in the MINA Futsal Cup, and he was awarded as best player in the Championship'.
He added: 'The U 12 teams were distinguished with their close technical level. The Empire FC Team presented excellent performance & won the competition's title, while its leader Keegan Milford was honored as best player in the competition. We appreciate Omani Al-Seeb Team's efforts & performance as it secured the 3rd place. We have successfully organized the futsal competition for youth in Dubai and we are looking forward to organize further championships during the sports season 2024 – 2025 in collaboration with DSC.
