Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Unveils Diverse Creative Lineup of Events in July

Dubai, UAE, 1 July 2026: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library has unveiled a vibrant programme of cultural, educational, and community events throughout July, offering a diverse selection of initiatives for children, families, students, and literature enthusiasts. The programme reflects the Library's ongoing commitment to fostering knowledge, strengthening national identity, nurturing creativity, and empowering the community through engaging cultural and educational experiences.

The month's activities will commence with Fun With Arabic, a ten-day programme organised in collaboration with Nahki Arabi Centre. Designed for non-Arabic-speaking children aged 5 to 12, the programme features interactive activities, language games, and storytelling sessions that help participants expand their Arabic vocabulary and develop their communication skills in a fun, immersive, and creative environment.

As part of its National Identity and Heritage Programme, the Library will host a series of events celebrating the birthday of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Among the highlights is a literary discussion exploring Poems From the Desert, one of His Highness's most acclaimed poetry collections. First published in 2008, the collection was later translated into English and remained on international bestseller lists for two consecutive years.

The celebrations will also feature a panel discussion titled My Story and My Companions on the Journey, which will explore the remarkable achievements of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum through his book My Story. The session will bring together distinguished guests who witnessed Dubai's transformation firsthand, offering a unique blend of personal reflections and historical insights. The evening will conclude with Poems in Song, a musical performance by renowned Emirati artist Tariq Al Menhali, inspired by the poetry of His Highness.

Further reinforcing its commitment to community engagement, the Library will host the third edition of the World Chess Championship in collaboration with the UAE Chess Federation. Building on the success of previous editions, this year's tournament is expected to attract a larger number of participants from across the UAE, reflecting the growing popularity of chess and the Library's efforts to promote intellectual development through strategic thinking and healthy competition.

The Library will also partner with Al-Muntada to present a literary discussion on The Years of the Maghr: A Stranger's Biography by Emirati author Maryam Al Zarouni. Published by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre as part of the Qalam Creative Writing Programme, the novel reflects the programme's mission to support emerging Emirati writers and enrich the national literary scene with original works of fiction.

Set during a defining period in the Arabian Gulf's history, the novel follows the life of Ghareeb, a young man born in Sharjah at a time when national identities were taking shape and modern political boundaries across the region were being established. The discussion will explore the novel's literary themes and its portrayal of a transformative chapter in the UAE's history.

Community members are invited to register for the Library's events through its official website, www.mbrl.ae, and to follow its social media platforms for the latest updates, event announcements, and registration details.
