RTA Serves Over 193,000 Riders Using Bus Pooling Service

Service Records Rapid Growth and Supports the Future of Smart and Sustainable Mobility in Dubai

Dubai. Roads and Transport Authority. 29th June 2026:

The pre-booked app-based minibus service has recorded rapid growth since its launch by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), with the total number of riders surpassing 193,000. This reflects the growing demand for smart and flexible mobility services and customers' trust in innovative solutions designated to streamline daily mobility across the emirate.

RTA continues to advance Dubai's sustainable public transport ecosystem by adopting smart and innovative solutions that meet the needs of residents and visitors. Among the most prominent is the smart shared bus service, which provides a flexible mobility option based on pre-booking through smart apps, bringing together riders travelling to nearby destinations in a shared journey marked by comfort, efficiency and accessibility.

Highest Operational Performance

The service recorded its highest operational performance in October 2025, transporting more than 18,000 riders in a single month — reflecting growing demand and its increasing role in meeting mobility needs between residential areas, business districts and key destinations across Dubai.

Innovative Operating Model

The service operates through a flexible model that enables customers to book their journeys easily via smart apps and benefit from dynamic routes tailored to demand. This ensures the highest levels of operational efficiency, enhances the public transport experience, spurs reduced reliance on private vehicles, and encourages greater use of public transport.

Supporting Sustainability Targets

The smart shared bus service supports Dubai's sustainability and green mobility targets by optimising vehicle utilisation, reducing traffic congestion and carbon emissions, and providing effective solutions for first- and last-mile journeys — enhancing connectivity between residential and commercial areas and the emirate's public transport network.

Continuous Expansion and Diverse Options

The service currently covers several key areas across Dubai, while RTA continues to explore expansion opportunities in response to growing demand, offering customers more flexible and accessible mobility options and enhancing integration across various public transport modes.

The service ecosystem currently includes three authorised operating platforms, helping diversify the options available to customers, inspires innovation, and raise service quality in line with global best practices in the smart mobility sector.

Future Vision for Smart Mobility

These results support RTA's vision to build an integrated and sustainable transport system driven by technology and innovation — offering safe, comfortable and efficient mobility options that enhance quality of life and strengthen Dubai's position as a leading global city in smart and sustainable mobility.
