Dubai, UAE: Super-modified tourers and trailers purpose-built to take on the rigours of the desert and its extreme conditions and an innovative protective spray-on exterior finish, were among the many special features attracting trade visitors at the ongoing Automechanika Dubai 2017, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Dominating the show floor with its powerful appearance, the LC79 Tourer from Patriot Campers, was quite the attraction. Built up on a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser GXL chassis with dual cab, Patriot Campers have turned this into an off-road super performer, complete with special Mickey Thompson ROH wheels and chassis extension. Based on a very capable offroad platform with V8 turbo diesel power, upgraded suspension and custom-built Super Tourer body, the vehicle comes with front and rear winches and under tray water tank and electric pump. The LC79 has been taken by Patriot Campers to a whole new level in style, capability and comfort whilst still retaining the factory backed warranty on any unmodified accessories. F.ully off-road and road worthy, Patriot Campers offer a fully customisable finish and fit. Line-X Body Armour, a spray-on exterior finish that offers total body protection was also drawing inquiries from interested traders and buyers at the show. Presented by Rofo Trading, Line-X, which can be sprayed on to any vehicle surface, offers customised texture and colour finishes and when applied, offers high levels of durability and protection. According to the exhibitor, Line-X gives complete vehicle coverage, is watertight, can protect steel, aluminium or fibreglass surfaces, is impact and corrosion resistant while being fade-resistant and UV-stable. Day Two of Automechanika Dubai also saw a number of product launches and a continuous flow of trade visitors and industry professionals making their way around the various exhibits in search of specific products or to scout the latest product innovations and design developments. Automechanika Dubai 2017, which will run till May 9, features 1,954 exhibitors from 57 countries. Spanning 69,089sqm of exhibition space, the exhibition is reinforced by the presence of 25 country pavilions and 36 international trade associations.. Automechanika Dubai covers the six product groups of Parts & Components (1,125 exhibitors); Tyres & Batteries (230); Accessories & Customising (205). Repair & Maintenance (200); Electronics & Systems (140); and Car Wash, Care & Reconditioning (55).
