3 out of the top 10 technicians were from Liberty

Dubai, December 7, 2014:Liberty Automobiles demonstrated the technical superiority of its service technicians when it won three of the top ten awards in the final round of the General Motors Middle East Technician Skills Competition held at the Dubai Autodrome recently.

In the final tally, Liberty Automobiles emerged the UAE leader with 3 winners in the third, seventh and ninth positions.

Following the outstanding performance, Sheikh Khalid Abdul Aziz Al Qasimi, Chairman of Liberty Group, holding company of Liberty Automobiles, attended a function held at the Liberty corporate offices in Sharjah to felicitate the four
Liberty technicians who successfullycompleted the grueling elimination rounds to be shortlistedamongtop 40 performers among Middle East GM dealers.
The four technicians were GayanPerera, NamalJayawardhana, RajithaHerath and Rolando Trajano.

“The strong,impressive performance by Liberty technicians in thisannual competition goes to demonstrate the high levels of excellence and expertise of our service teams,” commented Rajesh Krishnan, Group General Manager, Liberty Automobiles. “Our technicians are totally committedto follow the General Motors service motto - 'Fix It Right First Time’. We believe this will give added confidence to our customers who can rest assured that their vehiclesare in competent hands.”

The annual competition pitted 1500 service technicians against each other from 17 authorized General Motors dealership across the Middle East.After being put through a series of rigorous tests, the 40 shortlisted technicians were designated as ‘Super Techs’ to go into the final round of the Competition, to pick 10 top winners in the Middle East. The challenge was to diagnose and fix 40 purposely manipulated vehicles under the watchful eyes of 40 judges. The group collectively fixed a total of 480 issues over six hours during the two-day ‘Supertech’ event.

Liberty Automobiles technicians have been excelling in the competition year after year. Last year, Gayan Perera was declared Best Dealer Technician for the second consecutive year.
The GM Dealer Technician Skills Competition, first held in 2008, is the largest competition of its kind carried out by General Motors globally.
