Saudi Arabia's Renowned Musician Abadi Al-Johar will enrich SIBF 2022 Cultural Offerings

One of the Gulf’s most loved and celebrated musician, singer and composer will participate in Sharjah International Book Fair’s ‘Music and Literature’ programme on November 3


Sharjah, October 24, 2022:  One of the most popular Khaleeji singer in the Gulf, Saudi Arabia’s prized musician, Abadi-Al Johar will be part of the distinguished group of Arab guests at the upcoming 41st annual Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2022), organised by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) under the theme ‘Spread the Word.’

At the 12-day book fair from November 2-13 taking place in Expo Center Sharjah, the prominent Arab musician, singer and composer will lead a special session that is part of the SIBF 2022 ‘Music and Literature’ programme, sharing his extensive journey and contributions to the Arab music scene throughout his long and prolific career.

The ‘Music and Literature’ programme will host distinguished musicians, artists and intellectuals from around the world to emphasise the vital role of music and literature in shining light on important cultural and societal issues and topics.

In addition to sharing his experiences during the discussions, the renowned artist will also delight the SIBF 2022 audiences with his golden musical voice.

Khoula Al Mujaini, General Coordinator of SIBF, said: “There is a close connection amongst regional cultures and arts that have enriched Arabs for decades. Our knowledge and appreciation of art and culture has been elevated by great artists like Abadi Al-Johar, who has influenced the musical sensibilities of successive generations. It is an honour to host him on the SIBF 2022 stage, which brings together icons in arts and literature every year.”

Singer and composer Abadi Al-Johar is also a renowned oud player with over 50 albums under his belt. His musical repertoire includes compositions for dozens of artists in the GCC and Arab world, including the late singer Talal Maddah, Egyptian Najat Al Saghira, Moroccan Samira Said and Syrian Asala.
