4 Heavy Weights, 1 Champion, AED 1 Million
Dubai, UAE – 33 May, 2014 -The first Global Fighting Championship (G.F.C.) hosted by Golden Cage Promotions and Events in association with Dubai Sports Council took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre last night the 29th May 2014.
The G.F.C welcomed an unprecedented amount of visitors to the event, including VIPs and high-profile personalities in the region.
Spectators were treated to a high-energy atmosphere and entertainment, with some of the world’s greatest mixed martial arts champions battling it out over 7 super fights and a four-man tournament to claim a place in the G.F.C. Grand Prix later this year.
World-renowned fighters Badr Hari, Peter Graham, Arnold Oborotov, and Stefan Leko went head to head in the tournament, with the eventual winner Badr Hari walking away with the cash prize of 1 million Dirhams.
The G.F.C. is a world-class international event bringing the biggest and best names in martial arts to Dubai. The G.F.C. held in Dubai was the first of a series of fights due to take place across various countries internationally. The 4 champions will go on to battle it out at the GFC Grand Prix where the winner of the unique 4 way elimination fights will walk away with USD $1 million. “We wish Badr Hari the very best of luck in the G.F.C. Grand Prix, and I look forward to bringing the G.F.C. back to the UAE in the future.” added Mr. Shafypour.
Holding the G.F.C. in Dubai shows how the UAE is well on its way to being a hub for world class sports events, attracting people from all over the world, including international celebrities. By organising G.F.C., Golden Cage has created a platform in Dubai that will now be recognized globally for top-quality martial arts and entertainment events.
