Dubai, United Arab Emirates, February 2026: Held in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council, the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge marked its 16th edition at Expo City Dubai, attracting over 1,700 participants in the main event, with over 3,000 thousand cyclists registered for the various challenges over the weekend. Dubai's streets came alive over the weekend as thousands of cyclists rolled out from Expo City Dubai, creating an electric atmosphere of sporting excellence, community spirit and family fun. The UCI Gran Fondo World Series qualifier saw over 250 elite riders take on the fast-paced 96.4km route, starting and finishing at Expo City Dubai. Along the way, participants enjoyed a rare traffic-free ride through some of Dubai's most iconic areas, passing Global Village, the vibrant DMCC and Jumeirah Lake Towers district, and the scenic neighbourhoods of Tilal Al Ghaf, Springs and Jumeirah Golf Estates, before returning to Expo City Dubai for celebrations at the Spinneys Eat Well Live Well Village. In the elite category, male athlete Danil KONOTOP and female athlete Olivija BALEISYTE were fastest across the finish line with respective times of 1:57:36 and 1:57:54, taking top spot in the standings and earning AED 10,000 each from the lucrative AED 36,000 prize pot. Danil KONOTOP was followed closely by Marco LUMANOG and Rashid Abdulla SUWAIDAN both securing podium positions with finishing times of 1:57:37 and 1:57:37. respectively. Similarly, Maddison BLACK and Alina ABRAMENKA took second and third place with close margins, finishing with times of 1:57:55 and 1:57:55. To cap off a remarkable Aster BIG 5 competition, the overall winners saw Harrison WEBB and Helle BACHOFEN VON ECHT emerge as the male and female winners with incredible times of 5:05:14 and 5:06:27. respectively. In the Open Category it was Harrison WEBB and Helle BACHOFEN VON ECHT who took home the wins in the grand finale, with Harrison crossing the finishing line in 1:57:37 and Helle completing the 96.4km course in 1:58:04. In the Vets Category it was Renato SAMBRANO and Tania RODRIGUES who took home the Turquoise Jersey in the series, with Renato SAMBRANO crossing the finishing line in 1:57:59 and Tania RODRIGUES completing the 96.4km course in 1:58:05. This year's weekend also introduced the launch of Family Fun Day, a new addition to the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge designed to bring families and young riders to the heart of the action at Expo City Dubai. The day featured the ever-popular Spinneys Junior Rides, alongside the brand-new Family Fun Ride, creating a lively programme of cycling and entertainment for all ages. At Al Forsan Park, the Spinneys Eat Well Live Well Village buzzed with energy throughout the day, offering a vibrant atmosphere of food, activations and post-ride celebrations for both cyclists and spectators. From elite riders chasing qualification to families enjoying their first ride together, everyone had a reason to celebrate at the race village. One lucky participant had even more reason to celebrate, as Soueast surprised a randomly selected rider from the Family Fun Ride with a brand-new Soueast S06 during the on-site prize draw. Adding to the excitement of the family-focused event, additional prizes were also awarded on the day, including a Polygon bicycle for Family Fun Ride participants and multiple Woom bikes and helmet kits for Junior Riders, creating unforgettable moments for both winners and the cheering crowd. The 2026 Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge, a key qualifying race in the 2026 UCI Gran Fondo World Series season, saw elite cyclists take to the streets of Dubai, with the top 25% of riders earning their spot in the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships. As the largest cycling event in the Middle East for both elite and community riders, the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge also remains the longest-running cycling event in the region
