GEMS Education participates in UK MENA Education Summit
  • Global Chief Education Officer of GEMS Education Sir Christopher Stone chaired the summit and delivered keynote address 
  • Sir Christopher Stone also led and spoke at ‘Understanding the Regulatory Nuances of Operating in KSA and UAE’ panel in the Summit   
 
June 20, 2019 - Dubai, United Arab Emirates: GEMS Education participated in the UK Middle East Education Summit, a platform that brought together high-profile speakers, decision makers, Middle East officials and representatives of trade bodies, held at RSA in London. 
 
The Summit was chaired by Global Chief Education Officer of GEMS Education Sir Christopher Stone, who also led a K-12 panel on ‘Understanding the Regulatory Nuances of Operating in KSA and UAE’, which evaluated the regulatory framework in KSA and across the UAE and the opportunities and challenges recent developments present to K-12 operators.
 
The panel discussion comprised of senior industry leaders from United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia which included Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), NEOM and Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ). 
 
Sir Christopher Stone said: “It was a pleasure to chair the renowned UK MENA Education Summit this year that witnessed a global participation from key industry leaders. The Summit provided educational providers with valuable insights into new opportunities and ways of working in the Middle East.”
 
He added: “Among the key discussions, ‘Understanding the Regulatory Nuances of Operating in KSA and UAE’ panel discussed in detail the regulatory environment of the region, where I was able to highlight our GEMS Education success in the region, and how our focus on modern teaching methodologies, investing in teachers and driving the all-round development of children, allows us to contribute to enhancing the standards of education.”
 
GEMS Education was amongst industry-leading organisations to take part in the summit in addition to representatives of KHDA, the Minister for Investment from the Department of International Trade, legal directors from Clyde & Co, National Institute for Vocational Education, Royal College of Art, BAE Systems Saudi Development and Training, among others.
