Dubai, UAE, September 26, 2016: HGTV has announced that it will be bringing its biggest, most popular shows to the region for the first time when it launches on 1 November. The channel, which will be aired through beIN, broadcasts in over 40 countries around the world, is ranked amongst the top seven cable networks in the U.S. and has also attracted huge audiences across Asia. Now viewers in the MENA region will be able to get their first taste of shows such as Brother vs Brother and Listed Sisters, as well as favourites including Fixer Upper and Flip or Flop, which have made the channel a hit with TV fans around the world. The home and lifestyle channel will show entertaining DIY programs, the latest in design trends and share expert home improvement advice, to inspire viewers to undertake their own stunning transformations. Phillip Luff, Managing Director, UK & EMEA Scripps Networks Interactive, the media company that owns HGTV, believes it will be hugely popular in the region due to the nature of the programs. He said: “There is a huge global appetite for our shows as they are not just entertaining, but they are truly relatable and inspirational. “Everyone is always on the lookout to recreate a homely feeling, whether it’s a simple DIY paint job, or understanding the property market to secure your next home, and this is definitely the case in the MENA region where many people have several property investments around the world. “We’re very excited to bring our top programs to the region and we’re confident they will be as popular here as they have proved to be in other international markets.” Every Monday audiences can expect to be entertained by husband and wife duo Tarek and Christina El Moussa from Flip or Flop. Egyptian-born Tarek and his wife will have you on the edge of your seat as you watch them buy rundown properties and then renovate them for resale, waiting to see if it ‘flips’ (whether it sells for a profit) or ‘flops’. Brother vs Brother also joins the line-up, redefining sibling rivalry with Jonathan and Drew Scott as they go head to head to transform and sell off recently purchased homes for the highest price. In Fixer Upper, Texas design and remodelling pros Chip and Joanna Gaines will be transforming the ugliest houses on the block to the streets’ most sought after properties. HGTV will be available from 1 November, launching on beIN channel 118 through the Top Entertainment, Complete, Elite and Elite DUO packages.
