11 February 2016: Ras Al Khaimah to welcome thousands as leading property developer hosts forth fun-filled market on 11th and 12th February; entertainment for all the family plus a range of culinary delights and workshops to showcase the very best of local creativity along with the chance to watch world-class runners in action at the RAK Half Marathon

Ras Al Khaimah-headquartered Al Hamra Real Estate Development will continue the popular series of interactive markets for an estimated 5,000 residents and visitors in the latest community event.

Taking place from 5-10 pm on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th February at the Al Hamra Marina in the heart of the popular Al Hamra Village development, the two-day market will welcome 65 diverse vendors with entertainment including a magician, a giant bouncy castle, fashion designers and a gourmet corner with a range of foodie treats.

“The popularity of each and every one of our community markets has reinforced the spirit of Al Hamra and underscores the values we’re committed to achieving as a developer. We have a fun weekend of activities lined up for all our residents and visitors to enjoy so no matter what your interests we have something for everyone,” said Benoy Kurien, General Manager, Al Hamra Real Estate Development. 

The market, which coincides with the annual RAK Half Marathon, which takes place on the morning of 11 February, attracting tourists and residents from across the UAE, will once again offer a packed calendar of activities will keep visitors busy throughout the afternoon and evening, featuring an edutainment corner with Balloon Plus and RAK Traffic Department, Al Dahaisa Stables, RAK Animal Welfare Centre petting zoo and Al Talib Training Centre.

Food lovers will head to the Gourmet Corner, with onsite live cooking and exclusive recipes by The Banyan Tree Chef, Lobster Burger, Sharafa Bedouin Cooking, Shake Chilli Indian Bistro and Doyafa Sweets, while the popular Welcome, Welfare and Wellness (WWW) Corner will take care of tourism, animals, and health.

“We’re creating a burgeoning culinary destination with many of our vendors focusing on the taste buds and diverse palates of visitors by showcasing an exciting array of speciality foods from both home and abroad, all of which adds to the rich cultural diversity of everything we do,” remarked Kurien.

“It’s a very active weekend in Ras Al Khaimah this time around, with our premier retail destination, Manar Mall, also hosting a Chinese dance spectacle to celebrate the Year of the Monkey. Visitors to the mall can enjoy five traditional performances, including the renowned Lion Dance and Dragon Dance, which will take place at 30 minute intervals on the afternoon of both 12th and 13th February,” he added.

The Pan Emirates lounge, 3Delux, a magician, roaming mascots and live music from Doctor Drums will add to the ambience, with RAK FM and MIX FM running a contest to win a weekend stay at the Hilton Al Hamra Beach & Golf Resort and The Banyan Tree Ras Al Khaimah Beach at Al Hamra Village.

The full line-up of vendors also includes Al Hamra Marina’s newest restaurant facing the Bay, Marina Muse, as well as Voltage Burger, Monkey Cookies, Mojito Mama, Pancake RAK, Papa Kumpir, Johny Rockets, Shake Shack, Cookie Biz, Yammy Sweeets, La Belle Rose, Soapy Bouquet, Firouza Perfumes, Z Pretty Parties, Sand Toys and Golden Eagle Tour.
