The University of Bolton - Academic Centre, RAK, took 4th place at the EEG Public Speaking Competition running between the 25th and 26th of November in Dubai, UAE. Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) held their 15th Inter College Environmental Public Speaking Competition, hosting over 25 GCC based Universities in the two-day event. Students had the opportunity to showcase their public speaking skills on topics related to environmental sustainability. The University of Bolton team placed fourth overall and first, amongst various, superb and experienced competitors from the UAE, including both public and private universities.

Led by the Course Manager of Civil Engineering Mr. Lekshmi Rajesh, the team of five presented their views on environmental impact with conviction and enthusiasm. The team dominated with a total of 140 points, the highest points earned amongst all UAE base Universities. Dr Mansi Desai, Environmental Officer at EEG, praised the University of Bolton students for their innovative solutions on tackling global issues facing the environment.

Raj Nambiar, Director of the RAK Centre said; “Ranking fourth within the competition is a testament to the outstanding preparation of our students, as well as their commitment to researching and promoting sustainable solutions to minimalize global issues; we are extremely proud of their achievement” he concluded.
