An artist with a cause, Sharon White’s “The Tree Of Life” art exhibition hosted by Rotana hotels in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

As part of Rotana Corporate Social Responsibilities, Sharon White, the British renowned painter from Hampshire, has chosen United Arab Emirates for her second exhibition, and has been held at Towers Rotana Hotel Dubai and Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana, Abu Dhabi.

In March 2015, Sharon chose Dubai for her art exhibition and formed part of Dubai’s International Art Festival. Fifteen of her artworks were displayed and she was overwhelmed by the interest in her work, which included Dubai’s Palm Island, crashing waves and beach scenes.

“Rotana Hotels are pleased to host and welcome all art enthusiasts who discovered more about Sharon’s masterpieces. Her paintings were held for sale at both hotels where they get the opportunity to engage with Sharon’s remarkable works on display and enjoyed deep experiences of true art,” commented the head of marketing and communications department in Rotana hotels. The hotels’ management hosted the art gallery for a worthy cause; all fundraising will be donated to non-profit organizations that serve the community and kids with special needs.

A wife, mother of three young children and a strong believer in humanity, Sharon has decided to dedicate her flourishing art career for fund raising in support of breast cancer patients.  Sharon started her career nearly 20 years ago after her graduation from Southampton University in arts education. Then, she decided to teach art at the secondary schools and was accredited as an advanced skilled teacher in 2011. Three years ago she was struck down with the debilitating disease pleurisy and suffered from post fatigue syndrome. Although she could not even make a cup of tea, Sharon could lift up a paintbrush and produce masterpieces with unique and colourful style, utilising media ranging from silks, lace, Swarovski crystals, buttons and bows - in fact, anything she could lay her creative hands on. Her flair for fashioning these artworks has already created international interest.

In 2014, Sharon toured the UK visiting key cities undertaking mixed-media workshops with ladies supporting and facing breast cancer. Her Twitter campaign reached over 4 million people, as she was backed by headline names from stage and screen, to include BBC TV presenter Tess Daly, ITV host Lorraine Kelly, professional dancers and judges from Strictly Come Dancing. The artwork created, entitled ‘The Tree of Life’, was ultimately exhibited in London at Zandra Rhodes’ Fashion and Festival Museum.
