Company makes announcement on side-lines of participation in Building Healthcare Exhibition & Conference 2015 in Dubai Dubai-UAE: 8 June, 2015 - KEF Holdings, a UAE-based multinational holding company that specializes in innovative off-site construction technology, has announced the establishment of its new facility for prefabrication and off-site construction at Jebel Ali Free Zone. Aimed at revolutionizing the healthcare and hospitality industries through leveraging best-in-class practices and cutting-edge technology, the facility is expected to start operations by end-2015, KEF Holdings’ officials today announced at the Building Healthcare Exhibition & Conference. At its stand K32 at the Building Healthcare Exhibition & Conference in Sheikh Rashid Hall in Dubai International Convention Centre, KEF Holdings is showcasing a range of innovative design catalogues that have been developed to reduce project costs and the timeframe of implementation of a project by approximately 50 percent. The prefabrication concept is fast-gaining popularity in the UAE as site work and construction take place concurrently, rather than one after the other. Elaborating on KEF’s development plans, Faizal E. Kottikollon, Chairman-Founder, KEF Holdings, said: “With Dubai poised to establish itself as a global medical tourism hub, KEF Holdings aims to contribute in the emirate’s growth story by introducing economically sustainable and innovative solutions to the healthcare and hospitality infrastructure. “In today’s performance-driven construction landscape, prefabrication is considered a significant advancement within health facility designs, construction and procurement. Through our newly-launched facility in Jebel Ali, KEF Holdings is keen to provide world-class expertise in design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly and project management.” In January 2015, KEF Holdings signed a partnership with Australia’s Total Alliance Health Partners International (TAHPI) to launch a ‘studio’ at the Dubai Healthcare City for designing the prefabricated hospital modules. TAHPI is currently a strategic partner for KEF’s 500-bed tertiary hospital under construction in Calicut, India. When complete in Q1 of 2016, the ‘PMHP Hospital’ will be India’s first healthcare facility designed and developed entirely using off-site construction techniques. The company believes that big savings can be made with shuttering-robots being programmed on building information modelling (BIM) to create exact shapes using a system of steel shutters and magnets. In addition, KEF’s ‘graphic concrete’ system provides precise wall finishes that exempt external finishing works such as plastering or painting. KEF Holdings is marking an emphatic participation at the Building Healthcare Exhibition & Conference 2015 that runs from June 8 - 10. The renowned platform hosts global delegations from the healthcare industry, exploring innovative practices in design and construction to maximize facility operations and improve the overall patient experience.
