On 21st April 2015, as a part of the Earth Day Celebrations, Volunteers of Green Globe students community group distributed dinner to hundreds of workers at Al Yousuf labour camp at Al Khan Industrial area in Sharjah. The volunteers from youth group “Green Globe “ conveyed a positive and a vehement message about the crisis our environment is facing and about the three R’s (Reduce , Reuse , Recycle) on how they can use it in their daily life by giving real life scenarios. They passed their message through their speech and Posters. Later on they distributed dinner to the workers which include packets containing puris, channa, sweets, fruits, laban, dates and juices. Founder of Green Globe, Humaid Habeeb, a student said, “Our world is facing a crisis presently due to significant increase in the population due to which there is an increasing demand for energy and resources.” He added, “By participating in Earth Hour, Green Globe has been a part of as well as helped in disseminating awareness to support the international efforts towards climate change, and environmental degradation and providing non - conventional solutions for global warming and climate change.” The program was well coordinated by Event Coordinator of Green Globe, Apurva Ganesan. It was the philanthropic soul, the helping hand and the caring heart of each of the volunteers that helped in the success of the event. Inspired by the tireless contribution of workers who develop infrastructure and high rise commercial and residential buildings for the community, this program was organized by Green Globe. Anything to help our earth and keep it safe can be a way to take part in the day. Earth Day in fact is not to be taken as the only day we do something for our Mother Earth, but in fact everyday should be celebrated as Earth Day. Green Globe is a leading youth group and is a member of Earth Charter Youth Groups.
