Dubai, September 23, 2014 - A stunning showcase of Autumn/Winter 2014 must-have trends, Bloomingdale’s - Dubai pumped up the volume with a high energy, rock flavoured fashion show headlined by the season’s most coveted designer and contemporary labels. Sheikh Saeed Hall 1 in the World Trade Centre was transformed into a contemporary setting complete with a faux façade of Bloomingdale’s’ iconic New York flagship store on 59th Street and Lexington Avenue. The show kicked off in the presence of over 400 guests as over 30 models emerged on the white catwalk in gravity-defying stilettos (Gianvito Rossi, Sergio Rossi, Givenchy) and rock influenced must-haves juxtaposing fashion and music, all while highlighting the season’s biggest trends including: Winter blooms and bold prints such as oversized, rave and geometric florals by Peter Pilotto, Marni, Mary Katrantzou, Stella McCartney, Dries Van Noten, 3.1 Phillip Lim, new label to the retailer, MSGM, and Issa. Glimpse of Glamour, which shined the spotlight on feathers, fringe and frills alongside textured oversized coats by Manoush, Haute Hippie, Sandro, Elizabeth and James, Burberry and Lanvin. The Street Smart segment boasted bomber jackets, oversized sweaters, knits and skirts making way for a new form of uniform. Brands featured include Moschino Cheap and Chic, Helmut Lang, McQ, Alexander Wang. Heavy metals and Shiny Surfaces came into play with reflective fabrics and shimmering embellishments styled with fur. Brands highlighted in this segment included 3.1 Phillip Lim, Emilio Pucci, Dries Van Noten, Haute Hippie, Moschino, Alexis, Givenchy and Sass and Bide. As a finale, sparkling and embellished evening gowns made for an encore presentation for Glitz and Glamour, featuring the likes of luxe labels, Jenny Packham, Monique Lhuillier, Zuhair Murad and Reem Acra. The show also translated this season’s intelligent edginess with makeup looks created exclusively by Bobbi Brown, complete with smoky eyes and plum lips. Manes were coiffed into grunge-inspired perfection such as fauxhawks and colour streaked waves by MMG at the direction of head hairstylist Jessie Tabla. After a fashionable dose of the season’s hottest trends, guests mingled amid buoyant contemporary beats mixed by DJ Emir. This season, fashion rocks at Bloomingdale’s - Dubai!
