This year, Yas Island has unleashed all its secrets to make sure that everybody who visits the prime leisure and entertainment destination during the 2013 FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX weekend will be entertained. New additions from the Yas Marina Expansion includes a selection of seven licensed restaurants where you can feast on the freshest seafood and steaks, chill on groovy beats and soak up on an energy filled atmosphere that is part of history in the making. Visitors can watch the inspiring LED laser show which crisscrosses the super yachts that are moored in the marina beside the interactive fountain. Don't forget to bring the kids as a safe and cheerful play area is available too! For the first time ever Yas Marina pass holders are able to enjoy the Village and Oasis areas, which offer a huge range of entertainment for everyone. The Yas Marina Boardwalk offers a fantastic opportunity to walk alongside the track and get up close and personal with the cars whilst following the action on the large TV screens erected in the marina. There is plenty of action worth checking out, from big band performances and dancers, children's activities from bouncy castles to face painting, and much more.

Hundreds of people visited Yas Island information booth where they got to collect their Yas Island Value Passes and party glow sticks, and entered the hourly and grand prize competitions that started yesterday, Friday November 1st and will run till November 3rd.

The competition participants collect special numbered wrist bands with QR codes from the Yas Island information booth; each band links to the participants' Twitter account. The QR code also redirects to the Yas Island Facebook page app where a photo of the wrist band is submitted. Participants snap a picture of the band number and submit it to either Facebook or Instagram with the #YasF1 hashtag, where the winner's wrist band number is announced on Facebook and Twitter directly. The winners of the popular hourly competitions giving away general admissions passes for Yas Waterworld or Ferrari World Abu Dhabi were Joe Haykian, Lucy Dawson, Courtney Read and the Thabet family. And the grand prize winner of the first day was Donna Whitefield, where the grand prize package included one night stay with breakfast at Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi Yas Island, food and beverage vouchers from the newly re-opened Cipriani Yas Island, in addition to the choice of three experiences available on Yas Island such as: a Sunset cruise at the Yas Marina from Captain Tony's, premium pass to Yas Waterworld with 43 different slides and rides to choose from, premium pass to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the world's largest Ferrari Branded amusement park, a driving experience on the race track at the Yas Marina Circuit, and / or a round of Golf at Yas Links.
