Consul Generals, Heads of United Nations Agencies in the UAE, Diplomats and Philanthropists were all present for the Humanitarian Diplomacy Evening held on the occasion of the United Nations Day 2013 at the Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai which was organized by People 2 People Relations and Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai. The event started with a humanitarian photography exhibition of renowned Dubai based photographer Fahd Bhatti who exhibited captured images during humanitarian crisis in Pakistan, Lebanon and Somalia. The exhibition was inaugurated by a representative of H.E. Sayed Aqa UN Resident Coordinator in U.A.E and UNDP Resident Representative. Mobisher Rabbani, Founding diplomatic consultant at People 2 People Relations welcomed the distinguished guests and highlighted the importance of humanitarian diplomacy in his welcome speech. “Humanitarian Diplomacy is now an important and significant instrument of global foreign policy which is the best form of quiet diplomacy,” he said. He also read out parts of UN Secretary General's Message on United Nations Day 2013. The event ended with a closing address by Scott Butcher, General Manager of Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel, Dubai, who thanked People 2 People Relations for organizing the event with the hotel and emphasized the hotel's close proximity to the Diplomatic Area and briefed the distinguished guests of the luxurious facilities the hotel had to offer.
