Dubai Music Week Opens Tomorrow

Music industry heavy weights arrive in Dubai for opening day

23rd September 2013. Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Dubai Music Week, a venture between partners, Global Gumbo Group (G3) and DXB Live, in collaboration with Dubai World Trade Center, will open in Dubai tomorrow kicking off a week of seminars, concerts and panel discussions planned for anxiously awaiting fans throughout the week.

Music fans of all ages will find something of interest during Dubai Music Week, including live entertainment without buying a ticket. Entrance to the exhibition is free to everyone interested in discovering what is new in music and enjoying the spinning talents of local DJ's or enjoying the electric performances of the bands competing each afternoon at Pepsi BandSlam.

The week will wrap up with the Pepsi Arabic Concert, a live music festival featuring 8 stars from X Factor Arabia and Arab Idol including a live performance of the charity hit single, Bokra, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Tuesday, September 24, 8:00 PM - Emirates Quincy Jones Seminar: Michael Jackson Dream Team
Quincy Jones and the Michael Jackson Dream Team will share insights behind Michael Jackson'
S biggest selling albums of all time –Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad.

The evening includes live performances by MJ impersonator CJ Holland, hand-picked by Jones to perform because of the uncanny resemblance of his voice to Jackson's, and singer/songwriter Siedah Garrett. Garrett will sing the hit duet she performed alongside Jackson – I Just Can't Stop Loving You and her rendition of Man in the Mirror, the song she co-wrote for Jackson.

Wednesday, September 25, 8:00 PM – Emirates Quincy Jones Seminar: The Producers Panel
Quincy Jones will be joined by today's biggest music producers, will.i.am and Timbaland to explore the evolution of the music production and select the region's first ever crossover Arab star.

Thursday, September 26, 10:00 PM – All-Stars Live Performance with Will.i.am and Timbaland joined by DJ Cassidy who deejays special events for everyone from President Barack Obama and Kim Kardashian to Jay-Z and Oprah Winfrey.

Saturday, September 28, 8:00 PM – Bollywood Night, featuring Farhan Akhtar joined by Pritam and Band, Mohit Chauhan, Benny Dayal, Arijit Singh, Harshdeep Kaur, and Neeti Mohan.

Sunday, September 29, 6:30 PM – FREE Pepsi Arabic Night featuring performances by X Factor Arabia winner Mohammed Riffi, Ibrahim Abd Elatheem, Adham Naboulsi, and RAP group Young Pharoz and Arab Idol winner and finalists Carmen Soliman, Dounia Batma and Youssef Arafat.

September 26 – 27, 12:00 – 5:00 PM - Midem conference and workshops with keynote speakers from Europe, USA and the Middle East. Full program attached.

Pepsi and Dubai Music Week have joined forces to invite the region's most happening bands with undiscovered raw potential to compete against each other in a power-packed jamming session. The bands that come from Jordan, Kuwait, KSA, Qatar and United Arab Emirates, represent the incredible diversity in local musical talent.

Dubai Music Week, which is being presented in association with Dubai Calendar, official Partner Emirates and official sponsor Pepsi, marks the first industry trade show in MENA which brings together all the major music labels, artists and merchants to exhibit their products and launch initiatives to key industry stakeholders and consumers. It will run from September 24 – 29 and include a host of seminars, panel discussions and live concert performances from global industry personalities.
