United Arab Emirates, September 29, 2020: Tadej Pogacar’s first WorldTour race post Tour de France victory comes in the form of La Flèche Wallonne (30 September). The 202km one day classic through the Ardennes region of Belgium comes at a wildly unfamiliar time in the cycling calendar, however Pogacar goes into the race quietly confident. Pogacar commented: “I came out of the Tour pretty well. I have managed to recover a bit and my goal is to finish off the last part of the season in a good way. As always if I have the legs I will try something, but also am willing to sacrifice for my teammates if they are strong , as I did in the World Championships”. He leads a seven man team, boasting a balance of youth and experience, which will be directed and guided by the Australian duo of Allan Peiper and Neil Stephens: • Tadej POGAČAR (Slovenia) • Andres Camilo ARDILA (Colombia) • Rui COSTA (Portugal) • Sergio Luis HENAO (Colombia) • Cristian Camilo MUNOZ (Colombia) • Jan POLANC (Slovenia) • Edward RAVASI (Italy) The same team will come together a few days later for the second of the Ardennes Classics and third Monument of the reshuffled season - Liege Baston Liege (4 October). The 106th edition of ‘La Doyenne’ takes in 11 climbs with 4,000m of vertical gain along its 256km route. The old finale also gets a facelift; gone is up the uphill finish into Ans, now replaced with a flat finish in downtown Liège, making this a wide open race for a number of the riders who will take to the start line on Sunday.
