Leading Tennis Stars Set to Compete in the Mubadala World Tenns Championship This Week Pay Homage to the Rich Culture of Abu Dhabi With a Visit to Qasr Al Hosn

Abu Dhabi, 26th December 2018:   FLASH Entertainment, organizers of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship (MWTC), today took several of the tournament’s star players on a cultural journey of Abu Dhabi with a tour of the newly renovated, Qasr Al Hosn. 

 

Ahead of the tournament, three-time ATP title winner Karen Khachanov, Australian Open Semi-Finalist Hyeon Chung, world number 8 Dominic Thiem and MWTC defending Champion Kevin Anderson, were given a first-hand experience of Abu Dhabi’s rich heritage and in-depth look into the Capital’s glorious past. The players were not only gifted beautiful, leather tennis racket covers hand-made by the House of Artisans at Qasr Al Hosn, but also had a spot of training in front of the waters of the recently opened historical site, enjoying an impromptu rally using a traditional fishing net, customised into a tennis net. 

 

In its 11th edition, the MWTC will be held from 27th - 29th December 2018 at the International Tennis Center at Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi. Along with the above players, the star-studded tournament will also be joined by world numbers one and two, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, seven-time Grand Slam winner Venus Williams and 23-time Grand Slam Champion Serena Williams.
