Airport Safety & Security conference just concluded at the Dubai World Central- Airshow site, UAE. Organized by Fleming Gulf, the largest aviation exhibition and technology showcase in the region was co-hosted by Dubai Airshow 2015 with a view to build up security infrastructure in the aviation sector for the coming years.

The overall theme of the conference was to unite business with intelligence to provide organizations with a competitive advantage. The event saw varied professionals from across the industry indulging in multiple interactive panel discussions, engaging workshops and numerous networking sessions with an aim to address various threats & incidents and reinforce the importance of Cyber security in the aviation and airports sector. Most relevant topics in the industry such as 'Airport and Aircraft Communication Security', 'Airport Screening Technologies and Airport Security', 'Cargo Security: A Threat to the Region and Air Carriers', and many more were discussed during the event.

The conference featured a number of keynote speakers and other distinguished guests. Mohammad Al Dossari, UAE General Civil Aviation Authority spoke about Heliport Rule Making, Certification & Approval Process and Safety Oversight. Eng. Turki M. Al-Aufi, who is the Director of Safety & Quality Assurance, Saudi Arabia, spoke about Air Traffic Management System and the CEO of FAST Protect AG, Switzerland, René Mueller spoke about Unified airport sub-systems, Cost reductions by automation and consolidations and Video-harmonization and passenger tracking.

Other dignitaries who attended and participated include Nicoletta M. Mazzoleni, General Civil Aviation Authority, Biju Hammad, Dubai Airports, Head of Information Security and Compliance, UAE, Peter Kirk, UK Civil Aviation Authority, Saleh Abdullah Al-Harthy, Muscat International Airport and Youssef Beydoun, Head of Cargo Planning and Compliance, Dubai Airports Cargo And Logistics, UAE.

The event concluded on a positive note with a call to the participants, businesses and distinguished speakers to work together for a common interest to address various threats & incidents and support the importance of Cyber security in the aviation and airports sector.
