Dubai, October 26, 2015: Clean lines, block colours, standout prints. That’s the graphic spirit of Longchamp’s Autumn 2015 ready-to-wear collection, which sets the season buzzing with vibrant energy. Though the vision is bold, the collection itself - true to Longchamp’s sport-chic signature - is wonderfully easy to wear. Among the must-have pieces: neat little jackets in softest lambskin, enveloping egg-shape coats, and silk blouses just waiting to be slipped over second-skin lambskin pants or tucked into A-line skirts. The graphic spirit is translated not only in the collection’s sharp tailoring, which is evident even in the more rounded shapes, but also in key details, such as contrasting glazed panels on a velvet lambskin coat or skirt, a vertical grosgrain stripe on a silk blouse, or a glamorous flash of gold on a black and navy blue leather jacket. Most emblematic of all, however, is the season’s Memphis print, named after the design group founded in Milan in 1981 by Ettore Sottsass. Its dynamic mix of graphic shapes with mini geometric motifs in black and white turns even the simplest pieces - a silk dress, a sleeveless top - into standouts. It also shows the collection’s unexpected colour combinations at their most striking, with pale pastel energized by acid yellow, rich red by candy pink, and cobalt blue by vivid orange. It’s bold. It’s bright. It’s vibrant. It’s the new mood of Autumn 2015. Go graphic with Longchamp.
