Ezz Elarab Automotive Group, (www.volvo-egypt.com), the exclusive agent for Volvo Car Group in Egypt has unveiled its ground breaking new Volvo model, the 2016 XC90.  Already available in Ezz Elarab’s main showroom and its network of dealers across Egypt, the XC90 signifies a heightened standard of luxury for family vehicles and is the first glimpse of a soon to be rolled out new generation of Volvo cars.

Ahmed El Shami, Sales Director, Volvo Cars Egypt stated “Winner of Auto Express New Car Awards ‘Car of the Year 2015’ and ‘Large SUV of the Year’, the all-new 2016 XC90 signifies the first glimpse of an incredible future for the Volvo brand.  With its fresh take on luxury, the seven seat SUV is visually striking and is equipped with breakthrough powertrain technologies and an unrivalled combination of power and fuel efficiency.  Added to this are elegant cabin materials and world leading safety features, making the new XC90 the standard for next generation family cars.”

The new XC90 marks the beginning of a new chapter in Volvo’s history, capturing its future design direction, incorporating its own range of new technologies and utilizes its new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) technology.

Premium Design.  Innovative Technology

The new XC90 sports a new face and is the first Volvo to carry the company’s more prominent iron mark, together with the T-shaped “Thor’s Hammer” DRL lights.  The iron mark introduces an entirely fresh, distinctive and confident face for Volvo’s forthcoming generation of cars.

The XC90’s interior is also the most luxurious to have been designed for a Volvo. The most striking feature is an iPad like touch screen console, which forms the heart of an all-new in-car control system, the Sensus System.  Materials such as the finest leather and wood along with handcrafted details, such as a gear lever made of crystal glass also add to the cabin’s elegance.

Volvo already enjoys a reputation for providing the most comfortable seats in the industry and the new XC90 enhances this reputation by offering innovatively designed seats that free up interior space for passengers in the second and third rows as well, ensuring the new XC90 comfortably fits seven.  Seats have an ergonomic shape that resembles the human spine and a multitude of adjustment possibilities, to create the ideal seating position, while seats in the third row offer class-leading comfort for passengers with a height up to 170 cm.

Responsive Driving

When it comes to driving dynamics, the XC90 gives the smooth, solid ride of a premium SUV combined with sharp handling and response due to its completely new front and rear chassis.  Additionally, the new XC90 offers outstanding fuel-efficiency coupled with strong performance and horsepower.  All engine versions come with Volvo Cars’ 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

Standout Safety Features

The XC90 is the first car in the world with technology that features automatic braking if the driver turns in front of an oncoming car. This is a common situation at busy city crossings as well as on highways, where the speed limits are higher.

In case the car is run off the road, the new XC90 detects what is happening and the front safety belts are tightened to keep the occupants in position. Seats are also engineered for safety, including a special mounting and bracing system to help prevent spinal cord injuries in off-road accidents.
