Prof. Parmatma Saran, well-known author of “The Asian Indian Experience in the United States,” was given a reception by Kamal Vachani, President - Dubai Chapter, GOPIO and Group Director, Al Maya Group. Saran, a professor of Sociology at City University of New York, is an authority on non resident Indians spread across the globe. He is an active member of the Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin. Saran has written several books, including an authentic study highlighting the elements involved in Asian Indian immigration and how that population has fared in American society. Saumen Chakraborty, newly appointed chairman of India’s Electronics and Computers Software Export Promotion Council, also attended the reception held at JW Marriott Marquis Dubai. Eminent people from business and professional fields Deepak Babani, Ashish Mehta, Aswini Borkotoky were among those present.
