Creating Lasting First Impressions with BigScreen’s Video Interviewing Technology
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: BigScreen Middle East, a new Dubai-based subsidiary of the innovative, cloud-based CRM software platform for best practises in the recruitment industry, will unveil its transformational solution for video resumes at this month’s Careers UAE 2015, the leading recruitment, training and education exhibition for UAE nationals.

BigScreen VideoBooth has been designed to provide Emirati job candidates with an opportunity to create a lasting first impression on prospective employers, and present companies and their HR departments with a potentially game-changing method of assessing and communicating with top talent.

Taking place 28 - 30 April at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), Careers UAE will serve as the regional launch platform for the BigScreen VideoBooth service, offering both exhibitors and job candidates the chance to experience - first-hand and free of charge - the true potential of BigScreen’s unique video interviewing technology.

Serious job-seekers, keen to promote their candidacy and increase their visibility to exhibitors at the show, will be given an opportunity to record a special video interview to accompany their traditional CVs. With five BigScreen VideoBooths conveniently located around the event halls, the process - which takes less than 10 minutes - will allow candidates to stand out from the crowd when applying for a position with the employer of their choice.

BigScreen will also be awarding an exclusive prize to the candidate that records the best video at the event, with the lucky winner travelling to London later in the year for a one-on-one coaching session conducted by leading recruitment experts. The course content will include interview performance, video interviewing techniques, CV writing and portfolio management, tips on managing business and social networks, body language, career planning and personal brand management. Announced within 30 days of the show, the winner - if unable to travel - will also have the option to claim the prize in Dubai.

Asma Mohammed Al Sharif, Director for Exhibitions, DWTC, comments: “Our association with BigScreen Middle East, the Technology Partner at Careers UAE 2015, provides Emirati talent with a unique tool to create impact through technology with exhibitors at the show. It allows job candidates to offer potential employers greater insights into what they have achieved in the past - as is the case with traditional CVs - and what they are capable of achieving in the future.

“Conventional resumes outline a person’s competencies, qualifications and experience, and with many qualified candidates competing for the same position, it can be challenging to stand out from the crowd. By taking advantage of BigScreen VideoBooths at the show, job-seekers can enable potential employers to get a feel of their personality, and highlight the uniqueness of their potential contribution to the company by demonstrating public speaking, interpersonal and creative skills.”

A straightforward and reliable solution that helps address the key objective of exhibitors at Careers UAE - capturing top Emirati talent - BigScreen’s VideoBooths record a lasting impression of each candidate, and will facilitate applicant screening and a follow-up interview process post-show.

Each exhibitor that registers online with BigScreen will receive 500 invitations, in both Arabic and English, to hand out to potential candidates at Careers UAE. With 25 dedicated BigScreen staff to man the five booths positioned around the exhibition halls, candidates - upon presenting their invitation - will be assisted in recording their video interviews. Retained for exhibitors’ records, these videos - which can be reviewed, shared and downloaded by the company - will serve as excellent reminders of the top job candidates, both in terms of qualifications and experience, as well as cultural fit.

“We are fortunate that the launch of BigScreen Middle East, part of the BigScreen Group, coincides with the timing of Careers UAE 2015 because it is the perfect platform to showcase our innovative recruitment solutions driven by years of global experience,” commented Jonathon Saunders, Managing Director, BigScreen Middle East.

“The UAE is aiming to become the regional centre of innovation. The launch of the Smart Dubai strategic plan includes 100 smart initiatives, so Dubai and wider the Middle East - with its rapid pace of acceptance of new technology - is a primary market for us. As part of our roadmap this year, all BigScreen’s solutions will be Arabised, in line with the UAE’s goals of ensuring that every Emirati national, irrespective of work experience and industry focus, will have an equal opportunity in the workforce.”
