Employees used bicycles and car-pooling as ways of transportation during the day 

Dubai, UAE, 5 February 2017:  Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, successfully participated in 8th Car Free Day initiative, organised today (Sunday, 5 February 2017) by Dubai Municipality. The initiative aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by using any means of transportation and spread the awareness about CO2 reduction.

Empower’s teams took part in the initiative reflecting the company’s commitment to participate in all initiatives that address the climate challenges and encourage sustainable development. Also, Empower arranged buses for its employees to help their transportation during the Car Free Day and some of the employees used bicycles for commuting.

Such initiatives help to achieve UAE Vision 2021 and highly contribute in reinforcing Dubai’s stature as a world-class eco-friendly city.”

“We didn't only invite our employees to be part of Car Free Day initiative. We encouraged everyone including friends, families and colleagues to participate in this initiative. Our goal is to maximise the positive impact of the initiative and increase the collective awareness of the environmental issues, especially in terms of pollution rates and global warming. We, at Empower, keep focusing on sustainable development issues as we work hard to use the latest technologies in clean energy sector which goes with Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and UAE Energy Strategy 2050”, he concluded.
