Sharjah (United Arab Emirates), 12th March 2016: For the first time, Swiss watchmaker Longines presented the entire Sharjah Racing Season (2015-2016) that opened on the 7th November 2015 and culminated with the prestigious HH Sharjah Ruler’s Cup. The exhilarating tournament took place at the esteemed Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club. Longines continues furthering its commitment to the equestrian arena by presenting yet another significant racing season. Commencing with the opening race on the 7th of November 2015, the Sharjah Racing Season had a total six race meetings including the first and final ones. The HH Sharjah Ruler’s Cup held a series of six races all of which were presented by Longines, the highlights being the thoroughbred race, the Ruler’s Purebred Arabian cup race and the marathon purebred Arabian. The Thoroughbred race and the Marathon both had horses owned by Dubai Crown Prince H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum win top honors. The Ruler’s Cup had the horse owned by President of UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan emerge as winner.
