GESS Education Award celebrates educators in the region, teen from Dubai graced with Community Award for Citizenship Senior student at ESOL’s Universal American School Dubai wins Community Award for Citizenship and finalist Ambassador for Environment GESS Education Awards celebrated success in the education sector and embellished the elite educators including teachers, schools and educational professionals, suppliers and distributors at a glittering award ceremony organized at the H Hotel in Dubai UAE. The awards highlighted and rewarded the quality and diversity of educational products, resources, services and people as well as the best educational establishments and the most dedicated members of the teaching profession. Simran Vedvyas, a senior at Universal American School Dubai and Founder of youth group, SynergY was awarded the ‘Community Award for Citizenship’ and finalist ‘Ambassador for the Environment’ for her unparalleled community service and environment work in the region. Earlier this year, she was graced with the Young Achievers Award 2015 as ‘Young Brilliance’, in appreciation and recognition of her social work to the community at a very young age, at an award ceremony held in India on the occasion of National Youth Day “Yuva Divas”. Wishing all the winners and expressing her gratitude Simran quotes Picasso, as “Action is the foundational key to all success”, she ardently continues to say, “It feels great to be appreciated and recognized for the work that you do. I started out as just an active seven year old who wanted a new hobby and my work has become something different altogether. For me winning this award only supports that thought.” At just seventeen, she is a true inspiration and founder of SynergY youth group, who work to promote sustainability. She is a real catalyst inspiring everyone with her simplicity and grit. A young and talented ‘visionary’, an ‘achiever’ exceling with strong ‘leadership’ showing ‘humanitarian’ commitment, she is continuously self-motivated to ‘dreaming large and achieving big’. Simran is the “Emirates Women of the Year 2015 Young Achiever” and also recipient of “Splash Heart of Gold 2015” award for her astounding contribution and work.
