Purificacion Garcia - 1st UAE boutique opened

Purificación García, the emblematic Spanish fashion and accessories designer has just opened her first boutique in the UAE, located in Mirdiff City Centre. This is part of the brand’s expansion plans in the Middle East region. 

With three collections, ladieswear, menswear and accessories, Purificación García aims to bring her personal vision of fashion to the Middle East market; a vision which represents a universal language that is capable of adapting to everyday needs.

Since her beginnings in the 1980s, Purificación García has created clothing for the kind of woman whose approach to life has gradually evolved. The real woman has been, and remains, her starting point. A woman who looks for comfort without sacrificing style; a woman who understands trends and loves design but whose image is not dependent upon the dictates of fashion; a woman who knows how to make the most of her wardrobe in which can always be found exquisite essentials combined with special styles or fabrics.

The designer believes in versatile designs and neutral colours but with a special emphasis on fabric, “because hand feel indicates movement and suggests proportions, and because genuine innovation in fashion is in the fabric”.

In similar fashion, Purificación García sees accessories as a key piece in her collections and has been widening her range to offer options covering all needs. In short, the Purificación García spirit reflects a style that combines sobriety and discipline with confidence and ease.

Purificación García was born in the north of Spain and spent her childhood in Montevideo, where she found her first job in a textile company and acquired in-depth knowledge about fabrics, the cornerstone of her future profession. At the age of twenty-one, she moved to Canada where she came into contact with the world of leather and, after a brief stage in New York, she decided to return to Spain in 1978, establishing her definitive residence in Barcelona.

In 1981 she presented her first complete collection and consolidated her position in the national market in 1983 with collections every season in Barcelona and Madrid. In 1985 she opened her first store in Antwerp, Belgium and in 1989 she presented her collection for the first time at the Milan fashion show to critical acclaim.

Following the opening of her boutiques in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto in 1990, she put on her first show in the Japanese capital. In 1995 she opened her workshop boutique in Pau Casals Avenue in Barcelona from where, apart from her prêt-a-porter, she personally manages what she calls “nouvelle couture”.

In 1998 she signed an agreement with STL for the design, manufacture and distribution of a women’s prêt-a-porter collection, a menswear collection and their respective accessories.

With a solid career behind her, Purificación García has a network of over 70 stores worldwide and more than 220 points of sale in Spain, Portugal and Mexico.
The brand has developed a dynamic expansion plan for the Latin-American market, opening stores in Miami, Chile, Panama, Paraguay, Colombia and Venezuela.
