British Polo Day returned to Jodhpur, at The Jodhpur Polo and Equestrian Institute, for two days of fast-paced polo. Jaeger-LeCoultre is the official watch partner of the British Polo Day Global Series held not only in India but also in Abu-Dhabi, Dubai, China, USA, Australia, Mexico, Morocco and Russia. Hosted by His Highness Gaj Singh II The Maharaja of Marwar-Jodhpur, The Jodhpur Polo and Equestrian Institute welcomed the Jodhpur Polo teams for an exhilarating two-day competition. Launching the British Polo Day India with an opening match between the British Exiles and Jodhpur, the competition was followed by a game opposing the Jodhpur and Mundota Fort & Palace. Day 2 at the British Polo Day India began with a bicycle polo match between the Cavalry and the Guards. This was followed by a game between the Eton College team and the Charles Russel Speechlys Mayo College, its Indian contemporary. The Jaeger-LeCoultre 'Best Playing Pony' was awarded by Marc de Panafieu, Brand Director for Jaeger-LeCoultre in the Middle East to His Highness Maharajah Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur's pony, Ria, from the Eton team. The Gardens, with majestic Umaid Bhawan Palace as the back-drop, was the setting where the spectacular celebration of the iconic Reverso’s 85th anniversary came to a close under a starlit sky with a gala dinner, fashion show and auction. Jaeger-LeCoultre donated an iconic Reverso watch for the auction, raising a worthy US$11,000 for The Head Injury Foundation and Head Injury Through Sport, which was founded by His Highness The Maharaja Gaj Singh II Of Marwar-Jodhpur JAEGER-LECOULTRE AND THE WORLD OF POLO Both on the polo field and in watchmaking workshops, athletes and craftsmen alike are driven by the same concern for continuous improvement in order to mark time with the beauty of their every gesture. Precise measured gestures that are almost instinctive. Each one is endowed with a vibrant passion, within a team focused on a shared goal. Jaeger-LeCoultre has nurtured a rich history with polo since the creation of the Reverso watch developed in 1931 at the request of British officers in the Indian Army reluctant to damage their watches during matches. Closely bound up with this sport through history and shared values, the Maison Jaeger-LeCoultre actively supports the world of polo through a number of partnerships, such as the Palermo Polo Open in Argentina, or the Jaeger-LeCoultre Gold Cup in the United Kingdom. Its ambassadors - Eduardo Novillo Astrada, Clare Mountbatten, Marchioness of Milford Haven and Luke Tomlinson - all brilliantly demonstrate the fire that drives them on fields all over the world.
