Michael Aram is an American-born artist who works primarily in metal. After studying fine art and living in New York as an artist in the late 1980s, Michael took what would become a life-altering trip to India where he discovered rich metalworking traditions. Inspired to work with craftsmen whose skills he felt were greatly untapped, he turned his creative energies toward craft-based design, setting up a home and workshop in New Delhi. Michael’s work reflects humanity through the directness of the handmade process, as each piece is lovingly crafted using age-old traditional techniques.
 
In 2014, Michael launched Michael Aram Jewelry in celebration of his eponymous brand’s 25th anniversary. The jewelry is an organic extension of his signature motifs in precious metals and gemstones, capturing the beauty, significance, and whimsy of nature. It is constructed using age-old techniques, and designed to reflect the sensibilities of the extraordinary women who wear it.

 “For me there is inherent symbolic meaning in my choice of motifs and materials,” Michael explains. “Nature offers limitless design inspiration. My vision is to share the gift of nature with my collectors through something personal that they can wear and cherish every day.”
