Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 2, 2015: His Excellency Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) recently received a delegation from the British Council. The delegation was led by Paul Fox, Her Majesty’s Consul General, British Embassy Dubai and included Sally Heath- UKTI Trade and Investment Advisor, Healthcare and Claus Rees- UKTI Specialist Healthcare Advisor. From the DHA, Dr Layla Al Marzouqi, Director of Health Regulation and Dubai Medical Tourism Project and Ghanim Lootah, Director of Institutional Marketing and Communications attended the meeting. The two sides discussed ways to explore and enhance mutual cooperation between the two countries in the field of healthcare. Al Qatami provided an overview of the Dubai Healthcare system and highlighted the high level of quality healthcare available in the Emirate of Dubai. He also discussed the growth of the health sector and the various healthcare investment opportunities in the emirate. The two sides discussed cooperation between UK and Dubai in specific fields of healthcare including training and education, digital health, clinical services and mental health provision. During the meeting, the two parties agreed to explore mutual cooperation in healthcare and gain from each other’s expertise as well as share knowledge about important healthcare developments.
