LinkedIn to Conduct Session on Online Student Recruiting Strategies Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Careers UAE 2015, the UAE’s leading recruitment, training and education exhibition for UAE nationals, has partnered LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional networking platform, to discuss successful online student recruiting strategies at a LinkedIn-led session entitled ‘The Student Recruiting Journey Unveiled’. Uniting private and public organisations of all sectors and sizes, Careers UAE 2015 will provide UAE nationals of various levels of skills expertise with the opportunity to build a better understanding of the diverse and rewarding careers available in a wide range of industries. The event, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, takes place from 28 - 30 April at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). In addition to a number of exciting features, Careers UAE 2015 will feature a wide array of interactive sessions providing guidance and the latest insights on topics that concern employers and recruiters, including talent acquisition and the revolution in student recruiting. In today’s highly connected world, the majority of students are researching potential employers to form an opinion about the company before any face-to-face meeting or interview. Recent research by LinkedIn shows that 61 per cent of MENA students using the network research people and companies, with only 27 per cent actively search for jobs. Complementing traditional activities such as on-campus events and bi-annual career fairs, LinkedIn’s interactive session will cover best practices on online recruitment strategies, and implement strategies to help companies find and hire the region’s best students. Topics to be covered include understanding the various attributes students may value in a hiring organisation, crafting the employee value proposition, creating an impactful talent brand, and methods to reach the right students and deliver the employer’s talent brand messaging. “The days of employers asking all the questions and deciding whether or not to hire are over. Today’s talented Emirati graduates seek meaningful careers that not only provide a good work-life balance and an attractive compensation package, but also offer them an opportunity to make an impact and create positive change. LinkedIn’s The Student Recruiting Journey Unveiled is an excellent opportunity for companies to learn about communicating with bright Emirati students, creating an online employer presence that is authentic, distinctive and appealing,” said Asma Mohammed Al Sharif, Director for Exhibitions, DWTC. With a panel of experts from Abu Dhabi University, INJAZ and deVere Group sharing their respective views on the topic, the session will feature from the perspectives of a local university that helps their graduates secure challenging careers, an employer who will discuss the company’s graduate recruiting strategies, and a graduate sharing a career success story. Commenting on the need to adapt to change, reform current recruiting strategies and involve all concerned stakeholders to maximise meaningful employment opportunities for capable Emirati students, Arda Atalay, Regional Head, LinkedIn, said: “Youth unemployment can only be tackled through joint effort, starting with government initiatives, high engagement with employers to recognise young talent, and education and training for students and candidates looking for jobs. At LinkedIn, it is part of our responsibility to sustain the required healthy collaboration platform for the UAE and to ensure communication flow among these entities”. The Student Recruiting Journey Unveiled session will take place on Wednesday, 29th April 2015, between 10:30am - 12:00pm, at DWTC.
