Dubai - October 10th, 2013 - Continuing its support endeavours towards the United Nations' World Food Programme, Rus Aviation has announced its sponsorship of the 5th Annual Global Humanitarian Aviation Conference and Exhibition (GHAC) to be held from October 9 to 11, 2013. Rus Aviation has extended its support quotient to the World Food Programme's noble humanitarian effort to alleviate global hunger. The leading air cargo service provider will yet again, besides exhibiting efficient air-freight solutions, sponsor the WFP's 5th Global Humanitarian Aviation Conference and Exhibition to be held in Marrakech, Morocco, on October 9-11, 2013. Continuing its pro-active participation for the fifth year in a row, Rus Aviation will provide financial as well as logistical support to the WFP. Apart from this, Rus Aviation will continue to exhibit its comprehensive aviation expertise on air-freight management as well as aviation safety. Expressing his pleasure on this announcement, Mr. Bareh Al Aroud, General Manager, Rus Aviation, said “Aviation has brought the world closer together, more than any other man-made marvel. When the WFP highlights the core global reality of widespread hunger and the crucial requirement of eradicating it, it naturally concerns us at Rus Aviation since we believe we have the key, with over a decade of experience, to resourcefully utilise this platform.” Further elaborating on Rus Aviation's role in partnering the UN WFP, Mr Bareh Al Aroud said, “Our long-standing relationship with the United Nations World Food Programme and with the Global Humanitarian Aviation Conference and Exhibition is testimony to the fact that Rus Aviation does not simply aim to maximise air transportation efficiency, but is also immensely involved in making the world a better place for each one of us. The global community, of which we are part of, is fundamental to our operations and supporting it in every possible way is our highest priority. We appreciate the WFP's tremendous efforts and I am very pleased to announce Rus Aviation's support to the 5th GHAC.” The 5TH GHAC, to be held over three days, will highlight key issues such as aviation safety, risk analysis, operational challenges, threat and hazard identification and management, and corrective measures. The WFP functions in close conjunction with its aviation arm, the United Nations Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS), and Rus Aviation has previously supported their operations by providing logistical and financial support to the same, in addition to facilitating its aircraft fleet to the extensive efforts of the WFP.
