United Arab Emirates, Dubai -  March 3, 2019:  Asma Al Khudari, Director of the Executive Office of Higher Committee for Follow-up of Sharjah’s Membership of Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities, stressed that Sharjah is sparing no effort to improve the quality of life for all its people by digitalising all government services and by unveiling initiatives such as the new electronic platform, Injaz. The platform is aimed at saving time and effort and boosting productivity by simplifying government services.

Addressing a workshop at the Sharjah Centre for Astronomy and Space Sciences to introduce the new electronic platform, Injaz, Al Khudari said that the Executive Office is making every effort possible to make the platform readily accessible in order to meet the criteria of the Follow up of Sharjah’s Membership in the Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities.

Al Khudari discussed the strategic plan of the Supreme Committee and the detailed operational plan, 2017-2020, and the extent of achievements with the participation and concerted efforts of various institutions of the Sharjah government.

The Sharjah government is working constantly to maintain the Emirate’s membership in the global network, she said. The strategic plan is aimed at making Sharjah a truly Age-Friendly Emirate by creating an optimal climate that provides a comprehensive, sustainable, physical, healthy, social, economic and cultural environment, she added.

With the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Emirate is making every effort to improve the quality of life for all age groups, she stressed, adding the Emirate has managed this achievement among the 821 members of the global network thanks to concerted efforts by all stakeholders.

Al Khudari pointed out that the electronic platform, Injaz, will lead to saving much time and will increase the efficiency of productivity and work, as it will allow each entity to participate in monthly reports to follow up and meet the standards and conditions directly.

The strategic plan 2017-2020 is based on a number of goals, including the strategic objectives of developing services for the elderly in all sectors, to ensure sustainability in external spaces, buildings, transport, housing, social participation, respect, social integration, civic participation, employment, communications, information, community support and health services.
