Dubai Customs receives Oman Chamber of Commerce delegation

February 09, 2019 - Dubai, UAE

Passengers Operation Department of Dubai Customs received a delegation from the Oman Chamber of Commerce with the aim of exchanging experience between GCC entities and discussing means of customs cooperation. 

The visitors were received at terminal (3), Dubai International Airport by Khalifa Malek, Inspection Manager and Salim Al Mazimi, Senior Manager of tariff section. The delegation was headed by Badr bin Saif Al Oufi, Assistant General Manager of Department of Administrative Affairs at Oman Chamber of Commerce and a number of officials.   

The visitors toured the place and learnt about different plans and programs in place on handling passengers and luggage and methods used to recognize and seize different restricted, and prohibited goods.

The visitors viewed the world class facilities and services provided to passengers, and how the airport handles the increasing number of passengers, especially in holiday seasons. 

Al Oufi applauded the pivotal role Dubai Customs plays in securing borders and protecting society, and its valuable support of legitimate trade. 

“The UAE is the first country in the region to apply the ATA carnet service which helps in temporary entry of goods. We are visiting Dubai Customs to see this in reality” Al Oufi said. 

The visitors also lauded the advanced level of services available in place at the airport which makes travel an interesting experience to passengers using Dubai airports.
