Dubai Customs' Back to School Initiative brings cheer to 150 students

Dubai, UAE, 29 September 2018: Within its efforts to enhance social solidarity, Dubai Customs Director General, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih and the Chinese Consul General Li Lingbing took part in the “Back to School Initiative” which was organized by Dubai Customs’ Ghayyath Volunteer Team. As many as 150 school bags were distributed to the female students of Salma Al Ansaria School.

The school was decorated with the UAE and Chinese flags, plus a number of boards that contained historical information and pictures about China.

Dubai Customs’ participation in the event helped the students start the new school year with high morals and happy mood.

The event took place in the presence of Farid Hassan Al Marzouqi, Executive Director, Human Resources, Finance and Administration Division, Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department, Ahmad Al Dalil, Director, Coastal Customs Centers Management and Eman Badr Al-Suwaidy, Director of Customs Declaration Management, along with the Chinese delegation and the school’s principal Badria Abdulla Al Yassi.

The initiative is the first of its type at the government departments level in Dubai, and meant to consolidate the concept of volunteering and raise awareness around it. The Chinese Consulate was selected to be the partner in this philanthropic acitivity thanks to the strong economic ties between the UAE China, Dubai’s biggest trade partner.
