UAE, November 8, 2017 - The Department of Economic Development - Ajman (DED-Ajman) signed a cooperative agreement with the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Abu Dhabi aiming to enhance cooperation, coordination and the exchange of expertise on systems and services being developed, in order to support the Economic Vision of both emirates.

The agreement calls for the exchange of best practices and expertise in many areas such as economic and strategic planning, commercial industrial tourism legislation, investment development, inspection and control, support services, trade and industrial regulations, competitiveness and foreign trade, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and studies and research.

H.E. Ali Eissa Al Nuaimi, Director General of DED-Ajman, emphasized the Department’s keenness on strengthening cooperation and exchange of expertise with various government agencies in working towards achieving sustainable and diverse economic development and activating Ajman’s business sector, as well as promoting a suitable environment to attract local and foreign investments along with protecting and controlling commercial enterprises and economic activities.

H.E. Khalifa bin Salem Al Mansouri, Acting Undersecretary of DED in Abu Dhabi said: “The agreement will strengthen the efforts of incorporation and dual work among all the economic development departments in the country.” He also emphasized the keenness of DED in Abu Dhabi to forge similar partnerships with all DEDs in UAE which he explained will contribute to the consolidation of common efforts and the sharing of experiences, initiatives and pilot projects carried out by each emirate for their mutual benefit.

H.E. Al Mansouri added that the results of this agreement will undoubtedly contribute to the achievement of strategic objectives of economic development in line with UAE Vision 2021. He particularly noted that it will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and innovative experiences aimed at upgrading the system of government services to levels exceeding expectations and in line with the wise leadership of the UAE’s aspirations.

He also emphasized the eagerness of DED in Abu Dhabi to provide all forms of support to other DEDs and to facilitate their integration by sharing insights on successful initiatives and projects that have been established in Abu Dhabi in various fields.
