Pagero known globally for its e-order and paperless transaction services, to share expertise with Dubai’s Green charge

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 5, 2015: Dubai Carbon has signed an agreement with Pagero that will solidify DEWA’s push for a green economy. The Dubai Water and Electric Authority, earlier this year, announced that 85 per cent of its customers would not be getting a hard copy of their bills. The move helped DEWA reduce their carbon footprint by 332.18 tonnes, and further cements DEWAs stand on the matter.

“Pagero is known world over for its e-order and e-invoice service, as a company they are directly in chargeof lowering carbon emissions by preventing the use of paper and transportation across various verticals. Pagero will join our endeavour, to supplement DEWAs efforts,” said Ivano Ianelli, CEO, Dubai Carbon.

As part of the agreement, Pagero will contribute to the State of Green Economy Report 2016, conduct workshops and seminars, along with contributing to a wider knowledge exchange programme.

The Swedish-based Pagero has 12,000 customers across over 40 countries and reach over 500,000 companies and organisations worldwide. “We are pleased to partner with Dubai Carbon and share our worldwide expertise with the Middle East market via Dubai. The Emirate is leading the charge with genuine campaigns and measures to effectively lower the country’s carbon footprint. We will look to share our knowledge as much as possible,” commented Julius Nilsson, MD - MENA, Pagero.

The 2016 edition of the State of Green Economy Report will feature new elements, such as the introduction of a benchmarking mechanism indexing the performance of national energy sectors in the areas of security, equity and environmental sustainability starting with the UAE and its Emirates. In the coming years, this index willincludedata from various other participating countries thereby supporting an annual worldwide comparison.

Divided into eight chapters, the report will encompass topics on sustainability, energy resources and consumption, climate change. The content will be guided by the expertise of the ‘chapter champions’ and insights of the report supporters, who are some of the thought leaders of the UAE energy sector.
