Al Maidoor: DHA aims to provide excellent health services and five-star hospitality across its hospitals.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 20 March 2014:  In his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved the future leaders of government hospitals in Dubai.

Pursuant to the approval, the chief executive officers( CEOs) of government hospitals in Dubai have been assigned. Dr. Alya Saif Al Mazrouei has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer(CEO) of Rashid Hospital, Dr Abdulrahman Mohammed Saleh Al Jassmi, as CEO of Dubai Hospital, Dr Muna AbdulRazzaq Tahlak as CEO of Latifa Hospital and  Dr Moza Ajaif Al Zaabi  as CEO of Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital.

His Excellency Engineer Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority(DHA) said that the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai are in line with the vision of the future needs of Dubai and that development of health services in the Emirate is of vital importance particularly because healthcare is a fundamental service that touches the lives of everyone in Dubai.

The vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and his directives are aimed to ensure provision of  health services in accordance with international standards.

He said the appointment of the new leaders reinforces the faith that the country has in the children of the nation to develop the future of the nation and that  the development of human resources in the UAE has always been  priority to sustain future growth across all sectors.

Al Maidoor said the appointment of the new CEO’s for government hospitals in Dubai is in line with the vision of the Authority to further develop the health sector. He said the Authority aims to ensure excellence in  administration and provision of healthcare services that are at par with international standards.

Al Maidoor said the DHA has recently implemented a Future Leaders Training Program initiative  for several of its employees across all areas of healthcare with an aim to develop their hospital management skills and to ensure they are at par with the latest management methods.

He wished the future leaders the very best in their endeavors and asked them to keep in mind  His Highness Sheikh Mohammed’s philosophy which states that the job of the government is to provide happiness to the community and that can only be achieved through excellence in services and compassion.

The newly appointed CEO’s will take charge of their office shortly.

Dr. Alya Saif Al Mazrouei has been appointed as the  CEO of Rashid Hospital. Prior to this appointment, Mazrouei held the post of a consultant surgeon at Rashid Hospital. She ccompleted her graduation in surgery and medicine and pursued her post-graduation in visceral surgery and pancreatic islets transplantation from the University Hospital in Geneva, Switzerland.

Dr Muna AbdulRazzaq Tahlak has been appointed as the CEO of Latifa Hospital.  She joined Latifa Hospital in 2006 as a consultant gynecologist and in 2010 she was appointed as the head of the obstetrics and gynecology. Tahlak studied medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and then later completed her post-graduation at John Hopkins Hospital USA.

Dr Abdulrahman Mohammed Saleh Al Jassmi has been appointed as the CEO of Dubai Hospital. Prior to this, Jassmi held the post of consultant and head of pediatrics hematology and oncology at Dubai Hospital since 2004. He joined the DHA in 1989 and completed a post-graduation specialization in pediatrics from Germany in 1996. Later in 1998, he completed a specialization in pediatric hematology and oncology at the University of Dusseldorf , Germany. In 2014, he completed his master’s degree in healthcare administration. Jassmi is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (ASPHO) and a member of a group of British doctors Pediatric Oncology (UKSSG).

Dr Moza Ajaif Al Zaabi has been appointed as the CEO of  Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital.  Prior to this, Zaabi was a paediatric consultant in Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah.  She has obtained her post-graduation specialization in paediatrics from the Royal College of Paediatric and Child Health, UK and she holds a master’s degree in healthcare management. In 2011, Zaabi  completed her graduation from the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Leadership Program. She is one of the members of the vision 2021 for health.
