The Media Awards Competition is for Journalists and Photographers from the UAE's Media Elite. Journalists and Photographers can submit Their Articles or Pictures and Win a Media Award Dubai, 2 February, 2014: Global Village, Dubai's leading family entertainment and cultural destination, has announced that the prizes for its 4th consecutive Media Awards Competition will give competing journalists the chance to great prizes. The competition, with this year's slogan being “The Ultimate Family Entertainment Destination”, will close on 15th February, while couriered submissions should be sent in by 9th February. This season has seen many entertaining and one of a kind acts be brought to Dubai, many making their first ever appearance in the UAE and GCC. This year's Media Awards has given journalists the chance to experience these unique shows. This also includes the special Mellors Group creation, “Fantasy Island” – which features over 50 rides that are suitable for all the family – and the exquisite dining experience that can only be found at Global Village. The Media Awards has a number of categories for both journalists and photojournalists, with separate categories for Arabic and English Newspapers. The categories include – Best Article; Best Photograph; Best Online Coverage, which requires a minimum of the ten articles; and Best Newspaper Coverage, which requires a minimum of five articles. Participants are asked to provide the original newspaper piece and pass them on to Global Village. This can be done in one of two ways, participants can call the Global Village Marketing Team and organize for the delivery to be picked up, or they can hand deliver the original copies to the Judging Committee at Global Village themselves. Global Village's annual Media Awards rewards journalists and photojournalists for creatively covering the many facets of Global Village. With the theme of this year's Media Awards revolving around the entertainment that can be found at Global Village, writers and photographers have many options on what to publish their stories on. The journalists and the photojournalists who are undertaking this competition are regarded as Ambassadors of Global Village, as they are seen to be actively spreading the diverse cultural and entertainment possibilities that are available for all the family to enjoy during Global Village's 18th season.
