Abu Dhabi, 9 October 2013 – IWC Schaffhausen's newest boutique at The Galleria witnessed an opening with a charitable twist. IWC's Friend of the Brand and legendary footballer Zinédine Zidane spent a day with the children from Special Care Centre treating them to an exciting football match. At the Grand Opening, IWC announced that it will be donating 10 per cent of all its sales from the brand's new boutique between 9 and 19 October 2013 to Special Care Centre. ENGINEERING FOR MEN WHO LOVE FOOTBALL Constantly strengthening its commitment to charity by supporting initiatives around the world, IWC Schaffhausen invited Friend of the Brand Zinédine Zidane to participate in its recent altruistic endeavour with Special Care Centre in Abu Dhabi. The volunteer charity has been providing education to intellectually and physically challenged children in the capital since 1989 and hosts children from 14 nations. Zinédine Zidane spent a day with the children from the Centre treating them to a special football training session and an exciting football match that was watched by His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi). Speaking about the occasion, Sheikh Sultan says, “That was a really exciting match to watch, especially with Zidane playing. It was a pleasure to see the smiles on all the children's faces and, like IWC, we always try to do our part for society in any way that we can.” Zinédine Zidane adds, “I had a lovely time with the children, and I must say there are some budding footballers here. SPECIAL CARE CENTRE Established in 1989, the Special Care Centre provides educational and therapeutic services to people with special needs in Abu Dhabi. Operating from a modest residential villa, the centre is at full capacity enrolling 65 students, with more than 140 on the waiting list. The Special Care Centre admits students of any race, colour, religious affiliation, or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities made available to students at the school. Students may be admitted at any time depending upon their appropriateness for the program and available space.
