Dubai Municipality and Veolia sign a contract to enhance the capabilities of a hazardous liquid waste treatment plant.

Global resource management leader Veolia, through its subsidiary Veolia Water Technologies, has been awarded a contract by Dubai Municipality (DM) to engineer, procure and provide construction services to set up a Hazardous Liquid Waste Treatment Plant, in an effort to cope with the challenges of managing hazardous liquid waste in the emirate. 

Dubai, UAE, November 22, 2016:  The agreement is a first of its kind in UAE, and aims to make Dubai ready for the anticipated increase in the quantity of hazardous liquid waste, as existing industries expand and new ones are set up.

The plant is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2017 and will be able to treat 200 m3/shift (3shifts/ day) of hazardous liquid waste, including acidic waste, alkaline waste, oily waste and wastewater.
