Dubai, UAE, June 8, 2016: The Department of Medical Education in Dubai Health Authority (DHA) recently organized a Resuscitation Conference under the slogan, “Every Second Matters.” Dr. Ahmad Bin Kalban, CEO of Hospital Services Sector at the Dubai Health Authority inaugurated the conference and highlighted that such events help contribute to the development of resuscitation services in the emirate. Dr Jamila Al Shaikh, Director of Medical Education at the DHA expressed the keenness of the DHA’s Medical Education Department to organize scientific conferences which highlight important updates and help physicians stay up-to-date with the latest in their medical field. Dr Al Shaikh added that the conference is a stepping-stone towards the formation of National Resuscitation Guidelines. Dr. Zeyad Al Rais, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference said that conference was overseen by a 12-member scientific committee and over than 600 delegates including healthcare professionals, residents doctors and nurses attended the conference. The conference discussed resuscitation in various medical fields like Cardiology, Trauma, Oby & Gynae, Respiratory, Pediatrics etc.
Dr. Al Rais added that the Scientific Committee of the Conference was keen to select the best speakers at the global level to share their knowledge and expertise with the participants. Moreover, eight workshops were held in line with the conference. Dr Al Rais praised the significant role played by resident doctors in Dubai residency Training Program by presenting their research and studies at the conference.
Dr. Gheneya Sultan Al Shamsi, Head of Professional Development Center highlighted the effectiveness of holding such conferences during her speech at the closing ceremony of the conference. Awards were given for best poster presentation, best speaker from the Resident Parallel session and QCPR winner. A CPR Awareness Program Award Ceremony was also held to recognize and appreciate partners who join hands to provide CPR Awareness Programs in the emirate.
