Dubai, 6 December 2015: Today, the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) and Dubai Cares announced that they will be presenting for the second year running, The Global Gift Gala as the official charity Gala of DIFF, with honorary Chair Eva Longoria and Founders Alina Peralta and Maria Bravo. The Global Gift Gala will be supporting Dubai Cares, the UAE-based global philanthropic organization working towards improving children’s access to quality education in developing countries; the Eva Longoria Foundation, which provides education and entrepreneurship opportunities to women; Sunrise K Foundation, which raises awareness of childhood glaucoma, an eye disease that damages the optic nerve leading to vision distortion, vision loss and blindness; and the Global Gift Foundation with the opening of their first ‘GLOBAL GIFT HOUSE’ for children with special needs, providing medical treatments and therapy for those affected by rare diseases. Together, they aim to address women’s and children's needs to survive and thrive within their communities around the world. The event will take place in Dubai on December 12, 2015 at The Four Seasons, Dubai and will be hosted by actress, activist and philanthropist Eva Longoria as Honorary Chair. Other stars who will be in attendance include Oscar nominated actor Terrence Howard, Golden Globe and BAFTA nominated British actor Rupert Everett. The live entertainment will be provided by the phenomenal Kym Mazelle. The evening will be a glamorous red carpet event with a cocktail reception, dinner, live auction including a number of prestigious prizes with live entertainment. Last year, the Global Gift Gala in Dubai was a huge success raising over 400,000 USD during the live auction. For the fifth consecutive year collaborating with DIFF, Dubai Cares will be joining forces with The Global Gift Gala at this year’s event. Through the support of the UAE community, Dubai Cares has so far reached over 14 million beneficiaries in 41 developing countries.
